Castillo Perelada
Roc Blanc
2007

Regular Price: $12.99

Club Price: $10.99

The Roc Blanco 2007, named after the bodega's "Roc" symbol of a chess rook, is blended from 65% Xarel-lo and 35% Muscat grapes in Perelada's Catalunya vineyards. Xarel-lo is a white grape specially grown in Catalonia that is blended with Macabeo and Parellada grapes to make that wonderful Spanish sparkler that we all call cava.

Crisp and fresh by itself, it combines with the aromatic muscat grape in this blend to create a wine with all the delicacy of a breeze on a summer's day. Aromas of papaya, peach and citrus rise up from the glass with the muscat adding floral notes of white orchid, jasmine and honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is creamy but without any heaviness. Try this with grilled shrimp with pineapple, crab or seared scallops.

 I Mori Chianti
Colli Fiorentini 2006

       Regular Price: $13.99

Club Price: $11.99

Their Chianti di Fiorentini is made from vineyards surrounding the Giannelli's farmhouse in the Spicchiello locality. Sangiovese is Tuscany's native grape which is required by law to make up at least 80% of a wine if it is to be called Chianti. The I Mori Chianti has 85% Sangiovese along with 10% Colorino adding structure and 5% Canaiolo adding earthiness. On the nose, it has aromas of raspberries, violets, cherries and a tiny touch of tobacco. Flavors of sweet and sour red fruit emerge upon sipping along with fine-grained tannins and a rustic earthiness. This would be great with roast pork tenderloin or ANY grilled red meat
